The choker is a ‘90s trend that made a huge comeback this year. It’s another great example of history repeating itself, especially in fashion. Of velvet, metal or leather variety, it’s everywhere – in magazines, on fashion shows, on fashion blogs, in the streets. Every cool girl owns at least one, many wishing to look like Kendall or Gigi or one of world famous fashion bloggers. It’s gone mainstream, can be paired with every look, from casual to even formal attire.
From skinny scarf to choker, my love for neck accessories continues!
Today’s chokers are almost the same as the ones worn in the ‘90s, but on the other hand I prefer the kind with a twist. A while back, I came across this lovely designer from Serbia, Dunja Sabljic. Under the brand Duna Sab she creates unique, bold, minimalistic and sophisticated chokers. I was sold the minute I laid eyes on her Instagram profile. A few days later I already admired her chokers in person. I wore one to Ljubljana Fashion Week, in this outfit post I am rocking another one of her designs. The combination of leather and metallic elements interlaced in a piece that not only brings focus to the neck, but makes the whole outfit pop, is also one of my favourite accessories at the moment.
