A luxurious little black bottle doing wonders? I came across Payot Élixir Douceur Soothing Comforting Essence a while ago and it literally blew my mind. This beauty treasure is one of the best products for fighting dry skin. Yes, it is expensive, but totally worth it.
What they say at Payot?
Payot Élixir Douceur Soothing Comforting Essence is a reparative treatment ideal for normal to dry skin types. Acting as a protective shield, Elixir Douceur is effective on all the mechanisms of skin sensitivity to soothe, repair and restructure the skin. It relieves congestion and soothes feelings of irritation, comforts and restructures the epidermis and protects skin from external aggressions. Water Lily Extract calms skin and restructures deep within whilst Sesame Oil restores the cutaneous barrier. Elixir Douceur Soothing Comforting Essence is blended with Rice Bran Oil which protects from visible signs of ageing and combats external aggression whilst Sunflower Oil nourishes and soothes skin and calms irritation. An infusion of Borage Oil works to protect and regenerate dry skin and leaves the skin luxuriously protected, comforted and soothed with a silky soft feeling and suppler appearance. Payot’s advice is to apply daily, morning and night, over your entire face and neck, on thoroughly cleansed skin. Can be applied alone or under your usual face cream.
What do I say?
Payot Élixir Douceur Soothing Comforting Essence comes in an elegant black glass bottle with a sophisticated dropping pipette. I had a chance to use some of Payot’s products before (check out the review here) and they turned out to be amazing, so I must admit that I had high expectations about this one. It actually doesn’t have any special scent and the texture is light and not too greasy (I mean, it is oily, but in a light way). It absorbs relatively quick and doesn’t leave a greasy layer. I combined it with different kinds of creams and the results were always nice. For those who suffer from tightness, dry skin or dry patches, this product will be a lifesaver. Imagine how surprised I was after I woke up in the morning with all my problematic areas gone (=dry patches). I usually use it in the evening, sometimes also in the morning after my cleaning routine – dropping a few drops directly on my face and massaging it with my fingertips. This definitely is an expensive product, but it will last you a long time and you’ll love the results.
