When you are starting with makeup, you can easily be overwhelmed by everything and don’t know where to start. I rounded up one of my favorite budget friendly products that will help you achieve a natural makeup look, are easy to apply, plus they won’t make a big hole in your wallet. For a beginner, I think you really only need the basics. Don’t exaggerate, makeup is all about enhancing the beauty that is already there…

MOISTURIZER
It helps your foundation go on smoother to produce a more finished look. I would recommend you wait 60 seconds before applying your foundation, until the moisturizer is absorbed. Or, if you’re short on time, blot your face with a tissue after moisturizing, then apply the foundation. One of the best that absorbs quickly and does a great job moisturizing your skin is definitely the Green Line HydroMineral (6,99€) that contains natural mineral water Radenska Naturelle, which is the source of cellular renewal. HydroMineral creams are enriched with algae spirulina which stimulates natural collagen formation and superfoods extracts which supply skin with vital substances. It comes in three varieties – one for normal skin type, one for dry, one for combination to oily and it is a total bargain at 6,99€. Mine is suitable for normal skin, containing superfood avocado extract, algae spirulina and mineral water Radenska Naturelle. Works great with any kind of foundation!

REMOVING MAKEUP
My favourite makeup removers are definitely micellar cleansing waters. My top choice is the one and only Vichy Pureté Thermale 3-In-1 Calming Cleansing Micellar Solution, while my budget choice would be the Green Line Clear Active Micellar Cleansing Water (3,99€). It can be used for cleansing all skin types, containing gentle orange flower water. It removes make up from the face and eyes quickly and efficiently while moisturizing your skin. I normally continue cleaning my face with a facial cleansing gel and I would recommend you do the same.

FOUNDATION / BB CREAM
The quest for a foundation that will fit your skin perfectly might be a challenge. For those of you who are looking for medium to full coverage, soft and smooth formula for undetectable second skin finish, I would recommend you get your hands on the Bourjois 1,2,3 Perfect Foundation (15€). Its formula contains 3 colour correcting pigments: yellow (conceals dark circles for a rested look), mauve (corrects dullness for radiance) and green (neutralises redness for an even out the complexion). It is non comedogenic, lets skin breathe, gives some hydration and anti-shine look, has SPF10. For all those who just need a product to even complexion with light coverage, I would recommend you go for a BB cream. My absolute favourite is Vichy Idealia BB Cream that illuminates, hydrates, smoothes wrinkles, refines skin texture, reduces the appearance of dark spots and protects with SPF 25. I haven’t found a drugstore dupe for this one, it’s 25€ but worth investing in.

CONCEALER
I’ve got two that I’ll recommend to every makeup beginner. Catrice Cosmetics Camouflage Cream (3.50€) reliably covers irregularities of the skin, pigmentation stains and red veins. It offers a high coverage and can be kept in place with powder for a waterproof effect. Available in three different shades – I’ve got mine in 010 Ivory which is the lightest one out there. The other one I highly recommend is the Oriflame The One Illuskin Concealer (9,9€), which has a lighter formula compared to Catrice’s, and more opaque compared to regular foundations. BLUSH & BRONZER
Applying blush is the scariest step for most people. Apply too much and you can easily look like a clown. Therefore, I would recommend to pick up a cream blush. I’ve review the Isadora Twist-Up Blush & Go (16€) a few weeks ago, check my post here. Although the pigmentation is great, application is super easy – you don’t need a brush, just your finger tips. For a sunkissed-look, you should consider buying a bronzer. My number one advice would be to find a shade that suits your skin tone and looks as natural as possible (I am not a fan of too orangey shades). Isadora Bronzing Powder (20€) is one of my favourites at the moment; it comes in various shades, has amazing pigmentation and soft washable powder puff.

BASIC EYESHADOW PALETTE
Invest is a basic eyeshadow palette, it doesn’t need to be an Urban Decay Naked one, there are plenty of budget friendlies out there with similar shades and nice pigmentation. You can get all in one in a Makeup Revolution Salvation Palette What you waiting for? (8.95€, buy here) – a combination of 12 shimmer and 6 matte shades with full length mirror and an applicator. A perfect mix of nudes and naturals for day, moving to smokier by night.

EYELINER
You can either go for a liquid one, gel, pencil, pen or kajal. You would need some practice to achieve a perfect line, either one you choose (if you don’t you must be a natural!). In my opinion the easiest one to use is Oriflame The One Eye Liner Stylo (8,9€), which is an eyeliner pen perfect for drawing thin lines with great precision. Liquid eyeliners with brush applicator I love are Essence Liquid Ink Eyeliner (3€) and Catrice Ultra Fine Ink Eyeliner (4€). They both come in waterproof edition as well, which might be suitable for those with oily eyelids (or those who swim or do sport with makeup; which I don’t). Catrice’s has better pigmentation, while Essence’s has a bit smaller brush applicator. Both are a total bargain and quite easy to use. Last but not least, another one I recommend is Deborah Milano Kajal Pencil (4,8€), a soft pencil that leaves ultra-deep color. It is easy to blend in and also safe for use inside the lashline (available in many shades). When it comes to eyeliners I prefer black or brown colour; while blue or green might suit your eyes nicely as well.

MASCARA
Mascara is usually the makeup product that everyone starts with as it is easy to apply and makes a big impact in your look. I picked up two mascaras for you – one with plastic wand and the other one with natural bristles. I prefer the plastic ones, which are (in my opinion) easier to apply, however some of the beauty bloggers I know (like Živa from Nothin’ Fancy. Really.) prefer other. Oriflame The One Volume Blast mascara (11,99€) is my top budget choice with plastic bristles. It is really easy to work with, it reaches even the tiniest eyelashes and is suitable for those who have sensitive eyes. It gives great volume (two coats needed), plus it lenghtes and gives a natural curl as well. Isadora Volume & Curl mascara (18€) is actually one of the few mascaras with natural bristles that wow-ed me. It has a curved wand, tube technology (it forms tiny tubes around each lash), doesn’t smudge, flake and clump. Removal is super easy – warm water and gentle pressure.

LIPSTICKS
You can be more adventurous when it comes to lip products. I would advise you to go for a lip balm (Eos lipbalm is my mostly used at the moment – check my review here), lipgloss or a lipstick in a subtile shade for the start. I rounded up my favourite everyday makeup products in a post a while ago, check it out here. When it comes to drugstore lipstick, I recommend you check out the Essence Longlasting Lipstick (for 2,49€ you can choose from various shades), Bourjois Shine Edition Lipstick (26 Beige Democrachic is such a lovely shade; price 12€) or Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet (amazing bold shades for 13€).

BRUSHES?
For those who are just getting into makeup, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend buying multiple makeup brushes. Why? Because you can apply most of the product with your own fingertips. However, when you’ll be discovering and experimenting a little bit more, you will notice that brushes might come handy as well. The first ones you should consider purchasing are a few eye shadow brushes and a face brush (for bronzer or blush) and later on upgrade your collection. The latest hit on the beauty scene are definitely the Zoeva brushes, and I can totally understand the hype – they are amazing! You can buy them here.

Zanimiva objava, priročna:) Zoeva čopiči so odlični, ampak se mi zdi, da samo ti z belimi dlakami. Ostali so precej bolj grobi. Jaz imam set za oči in sem zelo zadovoljna. Moram kupiti še kakšnega za obraz:).

Ja super so! Jaz imam 3 z belimi ščetinami in Silk Finish (na fotki) in sem z vsemi zelo zadovoljna 🙂 Bom naredila en review v kratkem. Jaz bi pa z veseljem imela še kakšnega za oči. 🙂
