It’s been 5 years since I hit the publish button on my very first blog post. This October Ajdas, my baby blog is turning 5! 5! Can you believe it?! When I started my blog back in 2012 I didn’t have a clue on what I was doing nor what I wanted to accomplish. I simply started writing, started taking photos, creating content because I felt like it. Yes, it was a trend back then, it still is a trend now, but never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined it would bring me as much as it does. This small corner on the internet that is all mine, gives me freedom and creativity, allows me to be my own boss. It allows me to be a part of many amazing projects, to discover the world, meet a lot of wonderful people. It allows me to be me, to be free and to meet you, my dear readers – virtually and (even better) in real life. Thank you for being with me, for all the wonderful comments, shares, likes, all the support. You are the best readers I could ever imagine.

To be successful, the first thing to do is to fall in love with your work.

seasonal wardrobe change

We actually had quite a lovely, sunny and warm autumn so far here in Slovenia. In some way we had a perfect transitional season, a season when you can still wear your favourite summer pieces combining them with a bit warmer ones. Sadly it is coming to an end. Even though the temperatures right now seem high, with cold mornings winter is warning us it is just around the corner. I believe it is time for a wardrobe change!

Procrastination is a thief of time. I admit, I am guilty of postponing the inevitable wardrobe clear-out. Although I am always looking forward to a wardrobe change the colder months bring, on the other hand I truly don’t like this task, it is so time-consuming, especially if you don’t have a big closet and you actually need to (un)pack all the weather-(un)appropriate clothes into boxes. I believe the best past of each seasonal wardrobe change is giving the pieces you don’t actually wear anymore away and of course adding some new ones. Decluttering my closet is always a great excuse to buy some new clothing. This year I wanted to follow the rules of a Parisian chic girl by only adding some new staples to fill the gaps and keeping in mind quality over quantity. Some chic basics I found from Tom Tailor at their Midseason sale this October.

And you, are you ready for a wardrobe change?

Today I am sharing with you another makeup tutorial I created for the MyMake-up channel. In the video I used the L’Oréal Paris True Match trio – two of the products are completely new to the market: the compact powder and the concealer. The focus is therefore on creating a perfect base, which is a “must” for any perfect makeup look. I finished my look with the reverse eyeliner look and a gorgeous brown shade on the lips. The same look I also created for the DM campaign as one of the autumn makeup trends. I also wore it at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Ljubljana. I hope you enjoy!

I created the perfect base & reverse eyeliner look with the following products:
L’Oréal Paris True Match foundation (2C/2N)
L’Oréal Paris True Match concealer (2C/2N)
L’Oréal Paris True Match Ultra-Perfecting powder (2N Vanilla)
L’Oréal Paris Glam Bronze Duo
L’Oréal Paris Brow Artist Xpert eyebrow pencil (102 Cool Blond)
L’Oréal Paris La Pallete Nude eyeshadow palette
L’Oréal Paris Super Liner Super Perfect Slim eyeliner
L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Le Smoky pencil
L’Oréal Paris Paradise Extatic mascara
L’Oréal Paris Infallible Blush Paint Palette (01 Pink)
L’Oréal Paris Color Riche Matte lipstick (634 Greige Perfecto)

As a famous comedian Chelsea Handler once said, “we women have to stick together”. A quote that I live and swear by. Even though years have taught me not all female (or male for that matter) relationships work and that sometimes one can even turn their back on you, the years have also taught me that finding the right tribe of women can bring you closer to happiness, success and fulfilment. Women can be your greatest allies, believe me. The past 5 years in a highly competitive and fairly new business, blogging, have taught me that you simply cannot trust everyone. But on the other hand I also found some true friends, women who encourage me and help me be better and better – in life and in business. Supporting other woman’s work will not make yours less successful, less visible or less important. It will make you a greater person. And as all things come back as boomerang, your support will be manifested in the support you will get back. One way or the other.

Behind every successful woman is a tribe of other successful women, who have her back.

Why can’t all women just be nice to each other? Or at least not being mean? Even today in the modern era, women are still unequal and sexism is still highly present in the society. Making a positive change will most definitely not happen by turning against each other, my dear ladies. Instead of sticking a knife in another woman’s back, rather put energy into uniting and supporting each other. Or at least put energy into yourself, you own work. By no means I am trying to convince you to be friends with anyone, to be supportive to any woman out there. Please, just be nice. I get you cannot click with just anyone, I get that sometimes it is hard to see a woman succeed, when you are trying so hard to achieve the same yourself (and it doesn’t really go your way). The least you can do is to show some kindness and respect. Stop viewing other women as your enemies, because they are not.

This post is a tribute to all the women who stick together. It is dedicated especially to my blogger ladies Tesa (Magnifique), Vanesa (Takeoff with love), Nika (Beautyfull blog), Lea (Lepa Afna), Gabi (Parokeets blog), Eva (Nepopolna mama), Pia (Fash’n’fudge), who I am proud to call friends.
