Palazzo Naiadi is set in an impressive marble building, dating back to 1800s, and its definitely one of best located, spacious and the most luxurious hotels in Rome, Italy. It is definitely one of the most memorable stays I’ve ever had in a European capital, the whole hotel is, described with one word, “majestic”. The building’s foundations were suspended over the ancient Thermal Baths of Diocletian, which tells you a lot. Palazzo Naiadi’s rooftop pool terrace is definitely one of the “selling” features of the hotel, it offers an amazing view of Rome and a true refreshment during warmer months. Palazzo Naiadi connects you with the soul of the past and the spirit of the present, in a city that has mastered the art of living.

At Palazzo Naiadi you will discover Rome from a different perspective – from a superb location.

This was my first visit of Rome, it was short and sweet, so I knew I didn’t want to make compromises, when it came to accommodation. A Great location was definitely my first priority, and Palazzo Naiadi was definitely a great choice for my Italian adventure. It is located right next to Piazza della Repubblica and surrounded by fashion boutiques, restaurants and bars. Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and The Roman National Museum are just 200m away. The link to the main sights of Rome, such as tourist attractions and even airports (13,9km to Ciampino airport; 23.5km to Fiumicino internation airport), Roma Termini train, bus and metro station, is only a short 300m walk away. The close proximity of many main tourist attractions makes Palazzo Naiadi a perfect choice for every traveller interested in architecture, culture and history. Church Santa Maria Maggiore is only 600m away, you can also walk to the famous Trevi foundation, which is 1.1km away. You can get to Piazza di Spagna after 1,2km walk, to Forum Romanum and Colosseum in 1,3km. If you fancy a longer walk, you can even walk to Castel Sant’ Angelo and Vatican or take any other means of transport, such as taxi or metro.

Our stay at Palazzo Naiadi, a magnificent 19-century neoclassical palazzo, was an unforgettable luxury experience.

Palazzo Naiadi, The Dedica Anthology, Autograph Collection hotel is architecturally made of two halves, combining 238 rooms and suites. Rooms and suites are designed and decorated in neoclassical style and have a perfect mixture of modern and historic elements. The Hotel offers a presidential suite, called The Sophia Loren Suite (which is a true private apartment), three contemporary Executive suites, while we stayed in a specious high sealing Duplex Junior Suite, where we slept on the mezzanine, relaxed at the living room below and enjoyed the piazza view. Rich brocade curtains, silk wall-hangings, luxury furniture, details in bronze and gold, marble and mahogany bathroom, stunning view – luxury, history and design combined. The Palazzo Naiadi hotel offers a wide selection of breakfast options, as well as delicious Italian and international cuisine in their restaurant – including the panoramic terrace. They even select their beauty products with a true 5* star experience in mind – with heavenly scented Acqua di Parma products.

The staff is wonderful and really helpful, welcoming us during the last night hours at 2am (because of our delayed flight), they truly outdid theirselves during the breakfast as well. With many seasonal and local products, the selection of continental and buffet breakfast options is amazing. You can even enjoy your start of the day on a terrace during warmer days, but the indoor breakfast area is stunning as well (not forgetting to mention the view on the Pantheon itself). You can get culinary pampered at their Dionysus restaurant as well.

where to stay in Cinque Terre

NH Hotel La Spezia
4****
Via XX Settembre, 2, 19124 La Spezia SP, Italy
price: starting from 70€ per night (depending on the season)
https://www.nh-hotels.com/hotel/nh-la-spezia

La Spezia is a capital city of La Spezia province and is one the biggest cities in the southern part of Liguria region. You can find it half way between the Genoa and Pisa. It is also an incredibly important strategic point due to its big port, multiple roads and railways. Ships and the train lead directly to one of the biggest tourist attractions in Italy – villages of Cinque Terre. Due to the excellent accessibility and infrastructure of La Spezia, it is an ideal starting point to explore this area – drive only few minutes by train and you will already see small colourful towns, daily visited by multiple tourist crowds.

NH Hotel La Spezia with an ocean view has an ideal location to explore Cinque Terre

NH Hotel La Spezia is a spacious hotel, located in the town centre, which offers an amazing location with its 110 rooms. It lays directly by the port and offers a great starting point for everyone who arrive to this area by ship and all of those traveling by train or car (accessibility by latter is close to none, so it’s the best to leave the vehicle in La Spezia, where daily parking lot is 10 euros of charge). The building dates back to the 1950 and each one of the rooms has an ocean view and a promenade view. Few steps away you can find a number of stores, cafes and restaurant. Train station, connecting La Spezia with towns of Cinque Terre, is located 10 minutes away.

An ideal place to rest and recharge your batteries

NH Hotel La Spezia is also a good decision pricewise, since it includes an excellent offer, clean, location and a tasty culinary offer, one of the best in towns of Cinque Terre. Our room was spacious, with a beautiful view and a tasty breakfast. Hotel also has meetings rooms, party space, well- equipped gym and a restaurant, where you can spoil yourself with a glass of good wine or a cocktail. NH Hotel La Spezia was an excellent spot to regain some energy and use it to explore these five wonderful towns.

If you are heading to Cinque Terre, I strongly advise you to find an overnight accommodation in La Spezia, especially during the crowded months. NH Hotel Spezia is definitely a good decision.

Welcome to the colourful photo journey on the island of Burano.

Burano is an island in the northern end of Venetian Lagoon, famous for needle lace work and its colourful houses – colourful enough it earned a spot among the top 10 most colourful places in the world according to many publications. Located less than 10km far from Venice, you can access it only by the water – with an expensive private water taxi, direct boat line (approx. 10 € for one way ticket) or by waterbus vaporetto – ACTV’s lines (Venetian public transport company – use line 1, 3, 4.1, 4.2. or 5.3. and change to line 12). The latter is the cheapest option (daily ticket costs 20 €, one-way ticket 7.50 €), but you will have to sacrifice a few minutes more of your time (take note, vaporetto might end up very crowded, especially during high season). You can also book a 4-hour excursion, where you will visit not only Burano, but also the island of Murano, famous for the production of precious glass art. Vanesa and I decided to go on a daily trip to this colourful island by ourselves starting from Venice and we took a vaporetto.

Although Burano is known as an island, it is actually a settlement built on 4 islands – it is lotted into 5 joined by bridge quarters: San Martino Destro, San Martino Sinistro, San Mauro, Giucecca and Terranova. According to history books, Burano was originally built on pilons (palafittes), made from bud and other materials (later of bricks, of course) and joined together. Like the Venice itself. If you are looking for a hotel in Venice, I suggest you check out my blog post about San Clemente Kempinski Venice, a luxurious hotel located on a private island in Venice.

Colourful houses, charming streets, balconies full of flowers, cafes, restaurants, water channels full of fishing boats, lots of souvenir shops (among which lacec products are the most popular) attract more and more tourists each year. Venice has always been known as a popular tourist destination, while Burano is still gaining on popularity. Especially because it is so photogenic! It still inspires many people and many artists to come there to find inspiration, such as in the history (like Baldassare Galuppi, Pino Donaggio, Remigio Barboro …).

Burano is definitely one of the most photogenic places I’ve ever visited. It was my second time visiting it this September and I am sure I will return (preferably during low season). You can discover it whole by foot in a good hour (3 hours could be ideal to discover and enjoy it all) and created lots of amazing photos. I captured some colour on my smartphone Huawei P20 Pro.

Why is Huawei P20 Pro the ideal smartphone for a passionate traveler?

Certainly because of its exceptional camera that will make sure you capture all of your travel memories in a high quality photo or video. The Huawei P20 Pro camera was created in cooperation with Leica, has 3 different lenses, a hybrid 5x zoom, and thanks to its artificial intelligence, it ensures the settings are adjusted according to the object you are taking photo of (for example: it actually recognizes if you are taking a photo of a cat, dog, landscape or a person and adjusts the colours and brightness!). The camera works wonders even in poor lightning conditions, night photos are really exceptional. Since I always want to come back from my trips with lots of amazing photos, it is also important to me that my smartphone has an amazing battery life. And Huawei P20 Pro definitely has it, it never let me down. Huawei P20 Pro is my fellow travel companion.
