Dubrovnik, also known as the Pearl of the Adriatic, is one of Croatia’s most visited tourist destinations. I was mostly fascinated by it’s Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, which is full of stunning architecture and historical richness. Today it partly owes it’s glory to the famous Game of Thrones series, as visitors from all over the world travel there to explore the paths of their favourite characters.
Not to be overlooked is the city wall around the Old Town, approximately 2 km long, where you can enjoy the breath-taking views of the city and sea. However, the best spot to capture the whole city with your camera is definitely Srđ (check my previous post and see the photos I took there here). I decided to drive to the top with my Renault Kadjar, while taking a cable car is also an option. TheMedieval town offers many interesting sights – from churches, buildings, small gardens, town beach and Stradun (or Placa), the main limestone-paved street. My visit was short, but sweet and I know I will most definitely return one day. You can read my experience in Slovene HERE.
It looks wonderful!
Dubrovnik is on my travel list since forever! I mean…just look at the city and the color of the sea! Amazing:D
