A luxurious stay at the Savoia Excelsior Palace, Trieste

After an easy hour drive from Ljubljana in the Toyora Yaris hybrid , we arrived in Trieste, Italy. I’ve been to this Adriatic port city numerous times before, I always remembered it as a great easily-accessible shopping destination. Together with Tesa (Magnifique blog) and photographer Katarina Veselič we decided to thoroughly explore the city. We stayed at the Savoia Excelsior Palace, which is definitely the most luxurious hotel you can opt for while staying in Trieste. Built in 1911 and being completely renovated a while ago it’s “a modern expression of the majestic, refined, sumptuous, and unequaled style of the turn-of-the-century Grand Hotel”. It’s a part of the Italian luxury group Starhotels, so you can image the standards in accommodation and service are on point. The thing that impressed me most is definitely the architecture and interior design, while the total renovation returned all the important historical pieces to its former glory.

Unbeatable location

Savoia Excelsior Palace is located on the Riva del Mandracchio, facing the Palazzo dei Congressi and Stazione Marittima, while on the other side the Piazza dell’Unità d’Italia. So just a short stroll away is the main square where you’ve got all the nicest restaurants and bars in the close proximity.

Suite with the stunning sea view

We stayed in one of the 36 Suites out of the 144 rooms at the Savioa Excelsior Palace. Our had the stunning sea-side view, it was spacious and furnished in a classical style mixing luxurious velvet materials, interesting wallpapers and marble. You can totally see they put so much time and effort in the details in order to make your stay as luxurious and indulgent as possible. My favourite part of our room would definitely be the balcony from where we could watch the Adriatic sea.

A buffet breakfast to pamper the taste buds

Eat breakfast as a king is the motto I always live by, especially if it’s in form of a luxury hotel’s buffet. At Savoia Excelsior Palace the lobby, bar and restaurant have a sea view. Imagine drinking a coffee and eating delicious fresh fruit and pastrie, pampering your taste buds and having a stunning view as well.
